Brasil, Brasil – a land of hammocks

Woven from cotton, large and inviting, these are the Brazilian hammocks. A very typical feature are the side Borders, fringes , Macramé, flecos, gardinas, varandas, etc. , which can be simple or highly artistic depending on their design. In Brazil, they are called "varandas."

We've been working with Don Armando for almost 40 years. His weaving mill in northeastern Brazil is known throughout the country for the high quality of its hammocks, and has been awarded the "Best Hammock" prize several times in Brazil. Don Armando's commitment is clearly to ecology. He focuses on innovation and organic production. The varandas, the side decorations, are clearly a woman's domain.
